Residents of Granville come shopping to Westfield, and not the other way around. My house has a framed picture and documents in a drawer somewhere proving such things occur. People get married in the greens of Stanley Park, but divorce in the concrete of Springfield. Go look around at our surrounding communities and try and come at me with how you could say otherwise. There is a reason Westfield has been voted the Best Field since its founding in the mid-1600s. Amazon delivery trucks were far from being invented and beneficial geography like our river was crucial for the city to grow. Besides being pretty to look at and a place to fish, the river provides access for free trade. The land of Westfield, as most throughout the country, was of value due to the river winding its way through the land. And remember, you cannot love your country if you do not love your community. I encourage the readers to reflect on your own history woven within the beauty of Westfield, as I do here. I have the JFK picture framed in my kitchen, proving so. George Washington has walked through our city and so has JFK. Our lovely city of Westfield has been in business for over 350 years.
